The glory of La Musique is the upstairs salon, with arched beams that traverse the 10 metre span. It is reached by a stone staircase from the entrance hall. The room encompasses 200 square metres of living space with high ceilings, oak floors and a large open stone working fireplace. There are separate areas around the fireplace, a dining area with a specially commissioned oval gate–leg table made of 150 year–old oak that sits 16 comfortably and sociably. There is a snooker area, a study area and the amazing cinema, which also provides free to air UK television channels on the screen. The house has Wi–fi. Behind the screen is a truly exceptional full concert grand piano, a recent Steinway Model D, one previous owner (Alfred Brendel). The piano in this salon (complete with stage lighting) provides a unique concert room experience. The piano is available to qualified pianists at a charge. Also located on the upper floor is the fully–equipped kitchen. There is also a separate WC and a laundry room equipped with washer and dryer. The house is centrally heated.
