The Setting

Le Presbytere is located in a truly stunning setting, 4 kilometres from the market town of Sainte Foy la Grande, which offers many restaurants and shopping. It is well set back from a country lane and the drive takes you past the small country church which is on the Ste. Compostelle pilgrimage trail. The house is L-shaped with a large entrance drive and plenty of parking space. The church is used twice a year only. The house is surrounded on three sides by a vast plum orchard and has a spectacular view of the Dordogne River, viewed through its two ancient cedar trees (named Orpheus and Bacchus) and the orchard. The view and location are truly breathtaking, with glorious sunsets. A superb private restaurant (Table d’Hôte) owned by one of our chefs, in an idyllic setting with a dining terrace right on the banks of the Dordogne, is within reasonable walking distance. Access to a friend's tennis court, within easy walking distance, can be arranged. There is approximately 1 acre of flat garden, with a fenced pool, table tennis and badminton.
